The program for the first international comedy festival ever to take place in Nepal looks promising!
With 8 shows in 5 days it is not just the biggest comedy event ever to take place in Nepal, it is also simply the best: We are bringing together the best comedians of Nepal, along with 7 amazing comedians from India and 10 renowned international comedians from all over the world.
All shows will take place in House of Music in Thamel, which will temporarily be renamed to House of Comedy!
Monday September 16
20:00 – Best of Nepal, in Nepali
We are kicking off the festival by bringing you Nepal’s best comedians performing in Nepali. In collaboration with Comedy Circle we created an all-star line-up that is unprecedented.
Tuesday September 17
18:00 – Matt Davis: BadFamiliar
Award-winning comedian Matt Davis is coming to Kathmandu to perform his latest show, BadFamiliar. The show follows the evolution of world-traveled, veteran performer Matt Davis’ ideas as they have developed while performing and traveling through over 250 cities across more than 40 countries.
20:00 – Best of India, in Hindi
Stand-up comedy has been taking Nepal by a storm for the past year and a half. Relatively new to Nepal, in India stand-up comedy has been part of popular culture for quite a few years now. In collaboration with the Indian comedy club Mad Bee we will showcase some of the best comedians India has to offer.
Wednesday September 18
18:00 – Seema Golchha ventriloquist: Live in Denial
Seema Golchha mesmerizes the audience with her unique ventriloquism acts. She is one of Nepal’s best entertainers and has been performing regularly across India. We are more than exited to have her do her solo show during our festival. The show is in English.
20:00 – Best International Comedians
This is a perfect chance to see some of the best touring comedians from all over the world. This occasion is unique for both the audience and the artists, since all of them will be performing in Nepal for the first time. Nepal has never had this many international comedians come together.
Thursday September 19
17:30 – Ollie Horn: Pig in Japan
Pig in Japan chronicles top British stand-up Ollie Horn’s insane journey from failed English lawyer to minor television celebrity in Japan. It is an unmissable and hilarious tale of one man trying to find himself in a country that wasn’t really looking for him anyway. He also shows the crazy things he had to do on Japanese TV to pay his rent, too.
20:00 – Best of Nepal, in English
This is when we show the world what Nepal has to offer, by getting Nepal’s best comedians performing in English. This collaboration with Comedy Tuk Tuk will prove that Nepal has more than just beautiful mountains, it has a great sense of humor too!
Friday September 20
20:00 – Grand Finale: Best of the Festival
We are closing off with a bang! This is a packed show with amazing comedians from all over the world, from the Philippines to Philadelphia (U.S.A.). You don’t want to miss these powerhouses of comedy!
